The Scottish Schools (Parental Involvement) Bill was passed by the Scottish Parliament on 10 May 2006 and all school boards in Scotland will be replaced by a Parent’s Council. The Executive has allowed for a transition year from August2006-August 2007to give Authorities, schools and parent bodies time to put all the requirements under legislation in place.
